Introduction
At 17th century Maha Raja Krishnachandra extended his kingdom to Baishnab ghata (former name “Narayanpur”) along with 4 Brahmins and 1 Kayastha family from Jessore, Bangladesh.
4 Brahmin families were Chakraborty Family, Chatterjee Family, Ghatak Family, and Banerjee Family.
1 Kayastha family was Dey Sarkar Family.
All these families are presently living in Kolkata.
Narayanpur: Narayanpur which is now known as Baishnab ghata named after Shri Chaitanya as he went to Nilachal along with his disciple (Baishnab & Baishnabi) along the bank of River Ganga.
